Celebrate the start of the New Year – Taipei Style!

When you think of New Years Eve you think of Sydney, New York, London. But there’s a well kept secret, if you are looking for a new and exciting way to spend New Year’s Eve, and it’s called Taipei. The countdown centers around the 101 building, (the tallest building in Taipei) with a spectacular fireworks display, thousands of people start to gather in the streets and squares at around 10pm looking for the perfect spot to watch the fireworks and the main stage show with acts and entertainers from all over Asia.

After the fireworks the parties start and don’t stop for 4 days, there are 4 big circuit parties  not to mention all the parties held in the gay village and the Saunas. We recommend that you sleep the week before coming as you will not time to sleep over the 4 day celebration. For more info about the parties take a look at the website of the venues.

As Taxis are cheap in Taipei we recommend that you treat yourself and stay in one of the better hotels like the W Hotel or Le Meridien and travel to and from the various parties and events.
